The Kinthia collection

Malachite Jewelry

Circle after circle, the green bands of malachite jewelry nest inside one another, dark and light in turn, like the rings of a cut tree trunk. Each has its own shade, and this pattern, more than the color, is what makes the stone so recognizable. Protection and willpower are the two words attached to it, for anyone who wants to go their own way.

A few pointers to find what feels like you.

What its circles tell

Malachite is a copper carbonate, and that metal is what gives it its green. The stone built up in successive layers, which polishing reveals as bands, eyes, or ripples, alternating between an almost black green and an apple green. The Greeks are said to have named it after mallow, a plant whose leaves are a similar green.

Away from water

Malachite is soft and doesn’t like water. So take your bracelet off before swimming, doing the dishes, or washing your hands, and keep it away from household cleaners. Stored on its own, safe from rubbing, it keeps its polish longer, without needing any product at all.

Boundaries, not walls

With malachite, people speak of a protection that doesn’t shut you in. Willpower and confidence complete the picture: knowing how to say no when you need to, choosing your own direction, then following your idea without asking permission.

From jewelry to objects

Its jewelry ranges from beaded bracelets, where it appears alone or mixed with clear quartz, aventurine, or smoky quartz, to engraved rings and pendants. It also goes into pyramid-shaped orgonites, alongside lapis lazuli or amethyst. Its deep green likes understated outfits, in white, black, or beige.
