The Kinthia collection
The moon disappears every month only to come back, and moonstone jewelry keeps something of that patient return. Its milky white stone lets a bluish veil float beneath the surface, shifting as it moves. It’s credited with intuition and a sense of cycles, the ones that close one chapter before opening a new one.
The Kinthia notebook
A few pointers to find what feels like you.
Moonstone is seen as the companion of fresh starts: trusting your hunches, letting one period come to an end, welcoming the next without rushing it. Kinthia sums up its card in three words: intuition, cycles, and renewal. It suits the transitions you’d rather live through at your own pace.
A mineral of the feldspar family, moonstone has a translucent base, white, gray, or faintly peach. Its sheen shows best on a stone cut as a domed cabochon: it sweeps across the stone when you turn your hand, then fades. On round beads it breaks up and grows more discreet, almost a shiver on the surface.
The rings are often adjustable, with silvery finishes that carry on the stone’s paleness: 925 sterling silver, antiqued silver, silver plating, or platinum plating. On the wrist, moonstone comes as beads on elastic cord, alone or among colored stones such as amethyst, aquamarine, labradorite, or rose quartz. Several pieces echo the shape of the moon itself.
Its white clashes with nothing, from pearl gray to navy blue, and slips easily into everyday life. It makes a lovely gift for a turning point: a new school year, a home you’re leaving, a year that begins, the end of a period you loved, or didn’t.
