The Kinthia collection
A sealing-wax color, between orange and brick red, is what all carnelian jewelry shares, and the image fits: seals were once carved into this stone. Translucent, it lets the daylight through and recalls a slice of blood orange held up to a window. People see in it the drive of wishes you finally dare to set in motion.
The Kinthia notebook
A few pointers to find what feels like you.
Carnelian is a chalcedony colored by iron, present in varying amounts from stone to stone: pale orange in some, reddish brown in others. It stays translucent, which sets it apart from red jasper, an opaque stone you’ll sometimes find alongside it. Polished, it takes on an almost glassy look. Its name is linked to that of the cornelian cherry, a small, bright red berry.
Its card brings together drive, willpower, and confidence. It’s the stone of concrete beginnings, when a project stops being an idea and turns into an appointment, a registration, a first page written. You keep it on your wrist to remember what motivates you, especially on days when your enthusiasm dips.
Its jewelry is mostly beaded stretch bracelets, often unisex, where carnelian mixes with tiger’s eye, garnet, red jasper, or hematite in a tone-on-tone blend of reds, browns, and golds. Others keep it on its own, for a clear orange all the way around the wrist.
White, camel, and denim suit it well, and it warms up a dark outfit. As a gift, it marks a decision: a new school year, a first race, a workshop you finally sign up for, a driver’s license test you’ve made up your mind to take.
