The Chinese Tarot has as many cards as the Marseille Tarot. Only the names of the arcana change. The artwork is striking, and this tarot brings a wave of exoticism, dreams and freshness!

Here are the Chinese Tarot card meanings to help you with your readings.

Chinese Tarot Card Meanings

I. The Apprentice:
As the name of this card suggests, the querent is entering a new cycle: they’re going to learn.
New relationships will form. You’re only at the start of the new stage opening up before you.

II. The Water Carrier:
You have all the foundations you need to build a new project.
You can go for it without fear. It’s the balance between yin and yang.

III. The Rice Goddess
The project is already under way. You’ll be traveling, meeting people, having interesting exchanges.
In short, you won’t be on your own.

IV. The Emperor
Everything you’ve built is solid, and you’re enjoying it. These foundations give you a certain control over the present situation and access to a certain power.
You hold the cards. You know what you want.

V. The Illuminated Pagoda:
This card can be read in different ways: a sudden idea (the light bulb switching on above your head), love putting stars in your eyes, an intelligence that makes you shine, or a charisma that never goes unnoticed.
It’s the card of light: you can find the light at the end of the tunnel.

VI. The Labyrinth
As its name suggests, this card symbolizes difficulties: you stumble, you doubt, you hesitate.
If you can’t find the “exit,” help may come.

VII. Victory
Victory is assured. Every obstacle is overcome, and you reach victory, the reward for your efforts.
At last, success!

VIII. Justice
A card pointing to the need to call on your intelligence, reasoning and logic. You need the truth, to get to the bottom of things. When it comes up, it announces the wish to find a point of balance and to get an immediate answer to an uncomfortable situation. You’ll be able to turn the page, move on to something else, hope for a new path that sets you on another course. Your case is going to be examined, and you hope the best solution will be found. Generally speaking, you reap what you sow. If you’ve sown harm, it will come back to you.

IX. The Master of Wisdom
You’re a wise person who shows intelligence and caution. Every action is carefully considered.
Others know you for these precious qualities.

X. Destiny
You know what you want, and you’ll get it. Everything is running like clockwork. You plan ahead, you anticipate what’s coming, and nothing bad looms on the horizon.
Sometimes your head is in the clouds, yet this imagination pays off, because you put it to use in everyday life.

XI. The Dragon:
Power incarnate. With a very energetic character, the querent doesn’t let anything get them down.
They’ll see their projects through, since they put in the effort.

XII. The Hanged Man

A card emphasizing a time of waiting: you’re stuck, you can only wait, it’s the only solution. There’s nothing you can do, and events simply happen to you. Or, from a spiritual point of view, this withdrawal is a good thing: you manage to sort things out and to detach yourself from everything. For now, in general, you feel thwarted, more like a spectator of your own life. You have to give up and let things happen.

XIII. Death:
A card that often makes people run, because they immediately think of physical death. Well, think again. It isn’t always about physical death, but about the death of one situation giving way to another, for example the end of single life for a love life… A card pointing to a change, a radical transition, positive or sometimes negative if you refuse to move forward.

XIV. The Scales
The querent has found the right measure. Nothing more to say: balance has finally been found.
A bit of a dreamer but with both feet on the ground: that’s the querent’s portrait.

XV. The Storm
This is the extreme, and unfortunately nothing good lies ahead. A crisis is coming and you need to take steps.
Someone can help you and rescue you from this disaster. You have to wait for the storm to pass.

XVI. The Lightning-Struck Temple:
Everything collapses. You lose your dreams and your illusions, you land on your feet, but the fall is hard.
Sometimes you have to raze everything to rebuild everything. But it’s the end of a project, of a work…

XVII. The Star
You may have had to wait a long time, but you’ve achieved what you planned. All is well, and everything is working out as you wanted.
You look back and can see how far you’ve come in bringing the project to life. You’ve accomplished what you set out to do.

XVIII. The Moon
A card representing a receptive, sensitive, intelligent person, but also a nostalgic one who refuses to move forward, living only in a world of illusions, a dreamer always in their own little world: someone apart. When this card comes up, it reveals your present position: difficulties, conflicts, but all of it simply caused by your errors of judgment.

XIX. The Sun:
A card symbolizing happiness, fulfillment, radiance, joy… Make the most of this delightful moment…

XX. The Tao
A great dreamer by nature, you’re above reality, completely floating.
It’s time to come back down to earth, or some people may stop understanding you.
Or the querent may merge completely with a person or a project that matters deeply to them.

XXI. The Monkey
The querent has the cleverness, perseverance and courage of the monkey.
They set themselves a goal and will put all these qualities to use to reach it.
They should still be careful not to crush others along the way.

XXII. The Harvest
It’s the end of a cycle. You’ll reap the fruits of all the effort you’ve put in.
A period of rest will be needed to get your strength back.

What about you,
what do you think?

A question, an experience, another way of seeing things… The discovery continues in the conversation.
