Bead after bead down to the tassel<\/h2>\n

In India as in Tibet, a mala is counted off while repeating a mantra, one bead after another, until you come back to the guru bead. Here, it’s a large tiger’s eye, above a deep blue tassel. Along the way, white-flecked sodalite, glossy onyx, and beads the color of light tobacco take turns. Strength and protection, that’s what this trio is asked for. Worn at its full 90 cm, it falls to the middle of the chest, where the tassel swings. Wrapped twice, it turns into a double strand, closer to the neck. You can feel its 90 g, but it doesn’t weigh you down. The name Prisca, the ancient one, honors a practice far older than this piece.
